The Menu
2019-2020

In early 2019, I asked if I could make new menus- a main menu, beer menu, and kid's menu. The menus we had were a mostly thrown together. There wasn't really a design, or any branding, since it wasn't really the main focus for them at the time, and they just needed something that could function. I had wanted to create new menus since I started working on designs for them, and I got the green-light in April 2019. This project, through several iterations, meetings, and more, lasted until my departure from 8bit in March 2020. Pieces of the menu may or may not still be seen at the brewery!
The Origins of The Menu
The first version of the menu, designed back in 2019. Each menu item was made to look like old Atari cartridges. This was also made before a lot of the branding was decided on, but was the starting place for every piece that followed.

The second version of the menu, inspired more by 1980s arcades.

The Beer Menu

The main food menu (which was the third, and final version) and the beer menu (second, or third version) were, along with all branding I designed for 8bit, inspired by the art of Atari circa the 1970s. The lowercase titles were to keep the lowkey, modern adult vibe.
The Menu Jr.
The kid’s menu. Inspired by the art of the original Super Mario Bros. game for the NES. I wanted it to be a lot more colorful and playful, and be something that as a kid I would’ve loved.
